The women behind Proof

Sarah Miletich

CEO & Formulator

Sarah is the chemist behind every Proof formula. She holds a B.S. in Organic Chemistry from The Evergreen State College and an M.S. in Cosmetic Science from the University of Cincinnati, where her capstone focused on topical cannabis absorption. She worked in medicine before joining the cannabis industry in 2017, and she develops every Proof product herself.

Julie Mercer-Ingram

Founder & President

Julie founded Proof in 2016. She is a licensed California attorney who has practiced cannabis and hemp law since 2015, and she co-chaired the Sonoma County Cannabis Advisory Group from 2017 to 2019. She studied design before law and created the Proof brand.

Caia Nakhleh

Senior VP of Sales

Caia leads Proof's sales across California, working with the licensed dispensaries and delivery services that carry Proof.

Sara Peña

Director of Operations

Sara has run Proof's daily operations since 2018, directing the work from production to retail across manufacturing, distribution and the company's fleet. She has worked in cannabis since 2015, is OSHA certified, and keeps every department safe and compliant. She also manages Proof's day-to-day finances.

From a family's search for something clean and trustworthy to one of California's women-led cannabis brands.

    Proof is founded

    When a loved one was diagnosed with cancer, the family couldn't find a wellness brand that was clean, effective and affordable. So they made one.

  2. 2017

    Shaping the rules

    Founder Julie Mercer-Ingram, a cannabis attorney, begins two years as co-chair of the Sonoma County Cannabis Advisory Group.

  3. 2022

    First Emerald Cup awards

    Face Serum takes 1st place and CBN Sleepy Drops take 2nd in Alternative Cannabinoids.

  4. 2023

    Two more firsts

    Bazillion Drops win Best Tincture and CBG Elixir Drops win Alternative Cannabinoids at the Emerald Cup.

  5. 2024

    Best Topical

    Ice Hot Roll-On wins 1st place for Best Topical at the Emerald Cup.

    Proof Remedy

    THC-free Proof products launch online at proofremedy.com, shipping nationwide.

  7. 2026

    Pets, a podcast and the State Fair

    Proof launches the Proof of Wellness podcast and Proof Pets, and Cannabis Lube wins Bronze for Best Topical at the California State Fair.

Honoring Vela

Our founders' dog Vela used Proof tinctures as she aged. She passed in 2020 after 15 years, and she lives on in Proof's illustrations and photos.
